Gas Circle News, Air Products, Chairman, President and CEO Seifi Ghasemi announced on Tuesday that the company's new global headquarters facility will be built in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, in fact, not far from the company's existing headquarters. .
Air Products has decided to build its new headquarters facility a little more than a mile from the existing location, on the 50-acre southeast of the intersection of Mill Creek Road and Highway 222. The project is expected to begin construction in March 2019 and is expected to be operational in the summer of 2021. The new headquarters will be the base for approximately 2,000 to more employees.
Ghasemi said: “From the beginning, our commitment to staying in Lehigh Valley has never wavered. Now, we have made the decision to start building the facilities that represent our world-class company. This is a very exciting time. With our improved headquarters environment, our employees will benefit more and use sustainable technology to reduce our footprint and reduce operating costs.
The new headquarters will include a new administrative office, a research and development facility and an internal staff parking lot. The estimated cost has not yet been announced. Air Products' headquarters will remain at the current location 7201 HamiltonBoulevard Allentown. During the construction and completion of the new facility, employees will continue to work there. The company plans to use its existing 235 acres of land for the real estate market.
In the past two years, Air Products has been firmly focused on industrial gases and has sold non-core businesses. These actions, combined with other business changes, have led to too much space in the current location, plus the current 60-year-old location, with annual maintenance costs of approximately $20 million.http://www.wxytgas.com/
